Purpose
Time has been allotted for K-2 teachers to build a classroom culture that supports meaningful learning in mathematics.
Teachers should focus attention on:

- engaging in mathematical thinking;
- communicating thinking to others and listening to others’ thinking; and
- developing persistence and perseverance.
