CAPPA:PhotonicsResearcher–Nextgenerationofhighproteindairypowders (2YearFixedTermWholeTimeContract) The Centre for Advanced Photonics & Process Analysis (CAPPA) is an industry focused research centre working in the fieldsofappliedopticsandphotonicsandisbasedatCorkInstituteofTechnology.Thecentrehasindustrialpartnersin various sectors including medical devices, electronics, food technology, pharmaceuticals and photonics. As part of a recently funded DAFM research project in collaboration with Teagasc, CAPPA is currently seeking to hire a motivated researchertoworkonthedevelopmentthenextgenerationofhighproteinspraydrieddairypowderswithenhanced hydrationproperties. He or she will develop miniaturized molecule detectors for investigation of chemical dynamics of powder rehydration and will characterize powder reconstitution micro-dynamics using doped nanodiamonds. Nanodiamonds as molecule markers will be used in micro-phosphorescence and Raman real time powder rehydration imaging. The role requires the researcher to advance ideas from proof-of-concept to feasibility and onto realisation and application testing.
