ORDINANCES AND RESOLUTIONS PASSED SEPTEMBER 28, 2009
ORD. NO. 404-2009 accepting conveyance(s) by deed of estates in fee simple of
property in the City of Akron, for the EDGEWOOD REDEVELOPMENT AREA project;
authorizing payment therefor; and declaring an emergency.
ORD. NO. 405-2009 authorizing the Mayor to enter into a contract to provide
comprehensive residential alcohol-drug treatment at Interval Brotherhood Home; authorizing
payment therefor; and declaring an emergency.
ORD. NO. 406-2009 authorizing the Akron Police Department to participate in the “3rd
Grade Safety Belt Program” conducted by the Ohio Department of Public Safety; and declaring
an emergency.
ORD. NO. 407-2009 authorizing the Mayor to file an application and enter into an
agreement for Juvenile Accountability Block Grant funding through the State of Ohio;
authorizing the expenditure of local matching funds; and declaring an emergency.
ORD. NO. 408-2009 amending and/or supplementing Title 7, Chapter 76, Sections 76.01
and 76.04 of the Code of Ordinances of the City of Akron to revise a definition; and declaring an
emergency.
ORD. NO. 409-2009 authorizing the Mayor to file an application for a grant and enter
into an agreement for funding from the 2009 Justice Assistance Grant administered through the
Office of Criminal Justice Services to aid in law enforcement and security in the City of Akron;
authorizing the expenditure of local funds in support of this grant; and declaring an emergency.
ORD. NO. 410-2009 authorizing the Purchasing Agent to enter into a contract with
Logos Communications for the purchase of equipment for the network upgrade in the Police
Division; authorizing payment therefor; and declaring an emergency.
ORD. NO. 411-2009 amending the Zoning Map by changing the Single-Family
Residence Use District (U1, H1, A1) Classification on property located on the north side of
Upson Street, east of North Adams Street to an Institutional District (UHD, H5, A1)
Classification; and declaring an emergency.
ORD. NO. 412-2009 accepting conveyance(s) by deed of estates in fee simple of
property in the City of Akron, for the SUM S. MAIN STREET ROADWAY IMPROVEMENTS
project; authorizing payment therefor; and declaring an emergency.
ORD. NO. 413-2009 accepting the eligibility report for the Mallison/Raymond Study
Area and making necessary findings in connections therewith.
RES. NO. 414-2009 declaring the necessity and intent of the City of Akron to
appropriate a fee simple interest and temporary easement interest in certain real property owned
by Steven G. & Marcella B. Baker, located at 1761 S. Main Street, for the purposes of
constructing, reconstructing, making or repairing roads that are open to the public in conjunction
with the SUM/South Main Street Roadway Improvements; declaring the necessity and intention
of the City of Akron to proceed under Ohio Revised Code, Section 163.06 (B) for the purpose of
constructing, reconstructing, making or repairing roads that are open to the public without
charge; and declaring an emergency.
RES. NO. 415-2009 declaring the necessity and intent of the City of Akron to
appropriate a fee simple interest and temporary easement interest in certain real property owned
by Main Street Properties, LLC, located at 1769 S. Main Street, for the purposes of constructing,
reconstructing, making or repairing roads that are open to the public in conjunction with the
SUM/South Main Street Roadway Improvements; declaring the necessity and intention of the
City of Akron to proceed under Ohio Revised Code, Section 163.06 (B) for the purpose of
constructing, reconstructing, making or repairing roads that are open to the public without
charge; and declaring an emergency.
RES. NO. 416-2009 declaring the necessity and intent of the City of Akron to
appropriate a fee simple interest and temporary easement interest in certain real property owned
by Guy W. Tellefsen, located at 1791 S. Main Street, for the purposes of constructing,
reconstructing, making or repairing roads that are open to the public in conjunction with the
SUM/South Main Street Roadway Improvements; declaring the necessity and intention of the
City of Akron to proceed under Ohio Revised Code, Section 163.06 (B) for the purpose of
constructing, reconstructing, making or repairing roads that are open to the public without
charge; and declaring an emergency.
RES. NO. 417-2009 declaring the necessity and intent of the City of Akron to
appropriate a fee simple interest and temporary easement interest in certain real property owned
by Robert Warman III, located at 1795 S. Main Street, for the purposes of constructing,
reconstructing, making or repairing roads that are open to the public in conjunction with the
SUM/South Main Street Roadway Improvements; declaring the necessity and intention of the
City of Akron to proceed under Ohio Revised Code, Section 163.06 (B) for the purpose of
constructing, reconstructing, making or repairing roads that are open to the public without
charge; and declaring an emergency.
RES. NO. 418-2009 declaring the necessity and intent of the City of Akron to
appropriate a fee simple interest and temporary easement interest in certain real property owned
by Agnes M. Testa, located on Kalman Lane, for the purposes of constructing, reconstructing,
making or repairing roads that are open to the public in conjunction with the SUM/South Main
Street Roadway Improvements; declaring the necessity and intention of the City of Akron to
proceed under Ohio Revised Code, Section 163.06 (B) for the purpose of constructing,
reconstructing, making or repairing roads that are open to the public without charge; and
declaring an emergency.
RES. NO. 419-2009 recognizing and expressing gratitude and appreciation to the City
employees who participated in the Voluntary Separation Plan and wishing them the best in their
future endeavors; and declaring an emergency.
