DuPont currently has multiple opportunities for direct hire programs with locations in Orange, Texas
and Victoria, Texas for engineers with majors in Chemical, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering.
DuPont Packaging and Industrial Polymers is a strong contributor to the corporation. We produce a
broad range of specialty, high-value polymers for films, molding, lamination, and compounding.
These products are used in applications such as food packaging, construction, wire & cable, and golf

Typical first assignments for engineers include:
Process Engineering – Provide technical support to a production area. The engineer’s activities may
include improving an existing manufacturing process by increasing product yield, quality, or
equipment utilization. Engineers may aid in short-term process or product development programs,
support customer interactions and quality efforts, interface with Manufacturing, Technical Service,
Research & Development, Chemists, Sales and Marketing functions. Act as Process lead on key
growth programs and Projects.
Mechanical Engineering – Provide daily mechanical engineering support and troubleshooting to a
production area. They initiate Changes of Design or support Projects to improve the safety, quality,
environmental impact, or cost of the unit. Types of equipment may include compressors, pumps,
reactors, pressure vessels, extruders, refrigeration, cracking furnaces, distillation, etc.
Reliability Engineering – Ensuring that manufacturing equipment is properly installed, monitored, and
maintained to operate efficiently and safely. This may include trouble-shooting equipment reliability
problems, implementing corrective design and repair activities, applying advanced reliability tools to
diagnose root causes, and developing predictive/preventative maintenance programs for equipment
and facilities.
Process Control – Develop systems to monitor and control manufacturing processes and
equipment. Activities include developing, designing, applying and/or trouble-shooting
instrumentation, electronic circuitry and computer hardware and software for a wide variety of
chemical and mechanical processes.
Energy / Power Systems – Provide electrical and instrument engineering support for power and
utilities facilities located at manufacturing locations. Activity includes design, installation and
maintenance of equipment and technology.
Research and Development – Apply engineering principles to task areas ranging from fundamental
research on new processes and products to development of work to improve and/or diversify
existing product lines. Laboratory, pilot plant, or full-scale production tests are used by the engineer
to accomplish process technology and product advances.

Job Qualifications

Recently obtained or pursuing a Degree from an ABET accredited program in one of the following
disciplines: Chemical, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering.
 Relevant Work Experience:
- 5 months of paid Co-Op/ Internship engineering work experience in manufacturing or
engineering Research and Development in an industrial setting.
OR
- 2.5 months of paid academic engineering Research and Development work plus 2.5 months
of paid Co-Op/ Internship engineering experience in manufacturing or engineering Research and
Development in an industrial setting.
OR
- At least 10 weeks of DuPont Co-Op/Internship engineering work experience

Legal right to work in the United States without restriction
The following qualifications are preferred:
- 3.0 or greater GPA (out of 4.0 scale

Job Description
The Performance Chemicals Engineering Rotation Program provides you with early-career
opportunities to experience the diversity of a series of assignments leading toward your individual
career path. These assignments offer early career development by experiencing several types of
jobs in different businesses at different sites. A minimum of two assignments is required, each being
2-3 years in length. Geographic flexibility is a requirement while active as a member of the
Engineering Rotation Program.
There are multiple opportunities for engineers with majors in Chemical, Mechanical or Electrical
Engineering.

Program include:

Environmental Engineering – Find technical solutions for environmental compliance, including waste
minimization, waste disposal, permitting and waste remediation. The environmental engineer
supports the core mission of sustainable growth-increasing value to society while reducing our
environmental footprint.
Project and Design – Implement capital projects to build new or improve existing
facilities. Responsibilities include reviewing basic data, developing project justification and scopes,
coordinating design, and managing project construction.
Engineering Consulting - Provide Engineering consulting and support services to Performance
Chemicals businesses globally in support of top-line growth and asset effectiveness improvement
programs. Performs detailed problem analysis in addressing complex technical problems and
recommends/implements innovative and cost-effective engineering solutions to achieve business
objectives. Responsibilities include development of program proposals, managing budgets, program
execution and results documentation.
Performance Chemicals will be a new, leading industrial chemical company apart from its current
parent company, DuPont, effective July, 2015. Performance Chemicals will have global leadership
in titanium dioxide, fluorochemicals, fluoropolymers and selected specialty and industrial
chemicals. It will be focused on serving customers who rely on these products, along with improved
capability to respond to customer needs and market trends with a highly competitive asset base,
product line and workforce. Performance Chemicals will have a presence in 36 countries and will
serve customers in more than 90 countries around the world. The new company will supply
customers from 38 manufacturing locations, which span every region of the world. The result will be
a new company with the assets and presence to support the continued global operation of our
businesses and to serve customers around the world.
