Job Description
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join LEWIS, an Edinburgh-based award-winning agency with
creativity at its core. As part of the technical team you will have the opportunity to participate in
formulating and developing cutting-edge web solutions.
As part of this role, there is a requirement to work with other members of the Technical Team and
the wider business, including providing training and holding regular meetings to discuss, review
and enhance the existing processes and techniques used by the Technical Team and development
process.
There is also a requirement to keep up to date with the latest trends and technologies, as well as
share this information with the wider team. During all stages of the process we are looking for input
to allow us to continue to deliver exceptional creative and technical solutions that make ‘our clients
look great’.
Key responsibilities
1. Web Solutions
•
Develop high quality, compliant websites and microsites
•
Ensure that build outputs are accurate to original design specifications
•
Testing and implementing web pages to web guidelines
•
Testing and implementing web pages in accordance with major browser and device
support
•
Ensure CMS implementations are user friendly
•
Develop re-usable content/modules for the Umbraco CMS in order to assist in
providing a more rapid development environment
•
Work with other members of the Technical Team and Design Team to increase the
knowledge and sharing of techniques and trends
2. Campaigns
•
Prepare client data which includes de-duping, formatting and extraction of data sets
•
Generation of test data files and launch data files
•
Assist the Front End Development Team with the logic required within an email
campaign to ensure the email campaign is fit for purpose
•
Testing (where required) in association with the Front End Development Team email
campaigns to ensure the logic is outputting the required variables
•
Ensure the integrity and security of client data
•
Researching and presenting opportunities to the wider team to improve the processes
3. Business Wide
•
Work with all teams to provide recommendations in the scoping and delivery of
projects
•
Look for ways to add the plus 1 factor for projects
•
Keeping up to date with the latest industry trends and technologies
•
Work with the wider teams to develop accurate specifications and estimates to
enhance the delivery of projects
•
Liaising and interacting with the wider business
•
Make recommendations for creating cutting-edge solutions
•
Proactively contributing to best working practices and processes
•
Proactively developing/supporting studio processes and educating colleagues
•
Develop and assist with the implementation of an Agile development environment
Experience/Background
4+ years’ experience – demonstrable digital experience is required
•
Key development frameworks - ASP.Net
•
Key development languages - C#.Net, VB.Net, JavaScript, Razor, AngularJS
•
Other key technologies – SQL databases, Entity Framework, MVC, jQuery, AJAX, TSQL, HTML5, Dynamics 365 and Sharepoint
•
Experience with working with Content Management Systems such as Umbraco and/or
Episerver
•
Experience with working with APIs, mobile, social and emerging platforms
•
Solid experience of delivering projects using Agile frameworks
•
An excellent understanding of industry standards and trends
•
Perfectionist when it comes to writing clean code
•
Creative flair and an exceptional eye for detail
•
Good communications skills
•
Ability to work under direction and to work independently and demonstrate initiative
where required
•
Ability to quickly grasp concepts and instructions
•
Impeccable time management
