JOB DESCRIPTION JOB TITLE: Full Time Finance Assistant HOURS: 37 hours per week SALARY: £18,500 & pension @ 8% PURPOSE OF THE POST: To maintain the financial affairs of a well established charitable organisation. MAIN TASKS AND DUTIES: To maintain an effective payroll system for the organisation. To manage the day to day financial activity of the organisation in accordance with HMRC, Charity Commission and Company House Guidelines. To maintain the Purchase Ledger, Sales Ledger and Nominal Ledger. To effectively manage credit control. The verification and payment of staff, volunteers and Board Directors by BACS or cheque. The reconciliation of all bank accounts, including the Company Credit Card. Assist the Financial Controller to produce accurate, relevant, reconciled and timely financial reports for funding bodies. HR Administration tasks. To comply with data protection and confidentiality in accordance with the organisations policies and procedures. Undertake any relevant training as required by New Pathways. Undertake any other tasks not outlined in this job description but which will assist the aims and objectives of New Pathways. Essential: 2 years experience of financial systems including SAGE, Cash Book, Purchase Ledger, Sales Ledger and Nominal (General) Ledger. Advanced in the use of computerised systems including word, excel and email Ability to effectively convey financial information to non-finance staff/Board Directors (both verbal and written) Ability to work on own initiative Ability to work as part of a team Ability to analyse and interrogate financial information Good time management and the ability to work under pressure Preparation of returns for legislative compliance Ability to liaise effectively with external agencies including statutory and voluntary agencies, banks and insurance companies Accuracy and attention to detail. Desirable Educated to degree level or equivalent Welsh Speaker Experience of working in the voluntary sector Experience of Sage 50 Payroll AAT qualification
