1. PUBLIC PROCUREMENT AND ASSET DISPOSAL BOARD
April 2013- Present: General Manager Corporate Services
PPADB is responsible for the implementation and management of the public procurement and disposal
process aimed at ensuring efficient, fair, and competitive procurement process in which the people of
Botswana will have confidence. PPADB also directly adjudicate and award tenders for Central Government,
or indirectly through the Ministerial Tender Committees and District Administration Tender Committees
depending on financial thresholds. It is also responsible for contractor registration, capacity building, and
compliance monitoring, policy and advisory services.
1.1 MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
o Heading the Finance, Human Resources, Procurement, and Administration support functions of the
Public Procurement and Asset Disposal Board.
o Interpreting PPADB strategic plan and develops aligned Corporate Services strategic plan covering
finance and human resources fields and ensures implementation of same.

o Establishing and monitoring the implementation of internationally accepted financial management and
accounting systems (IFRS/IAS)
o Preparing statutory financial statements in line with IFRS/IAS as well as applicable laws.
o Preparing management accounts for presentation to Management and the Board to assist in planning,
decision making, and control of operations.
o Developing and monitoring the implementation of a cost effective system of procurement.
o Establishing and monitoring implementation of best practice strategic human resources management by
ensuring that PPADB becomes an employer of choice.
o Developing Budget guidelines and ensures availability of processes and templates for implementation
and monitors coordination of same.
o Overseeing coordination of staff performance planning, performance reviews and provide the leadership
with employees’ performance data to enable decision making in the areas of succession planning,
training and development and rewards.
o Initiating and leading in the implementation of periodic organisational climate reviews to monitor overall
organisational environment.
o Developing robust Industrial Relations policies and codes in order to promote sound employer/employee
relations and minimise individual or group grievances /complaints
o Developing and monitoring the upkeep of PPADB facilities by sourcing appropriate suppliers of services
and ensuring that Service level agreements/contracts terms are adhered to.
2. INSTITUTE OF DEVELOPMENT MANAGEMENT
May 2010- March 2013: Head of Programmes
The Institute of Development Management is a: Training, Research and Consultancy focused institution,
which was established by the governments of Botswana, Lesotho and Swaziland, to meet the development
management needs of the region.
2.1 MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
o Developing financially sustainable academic programmes, both short-term and long-term programmes, and
presenting same for approval at the Academic Council of the institute.
o Undertaking product portfolio analysis to assess the continued viability of each programme, and making
appropriate recommendations to the Academic Council.
o Developing a pricing strategy for programmes in line with demand, and affordability.

o Annually developing and monitoring the implementation of departmental budgets and submits them to the
Country Director. Ensures that the budgets are achieved and that there are no cost overruns.
o Annually coordinating the development of performance agreements and personal development plans
outlining Key performance objectives and measures by all staff in the department.
o Ensuring equitable allocation of workload in the Department.
o Semi-annually undertakes performance reviews with each member of the department.
o Investigating variances and reporting on the causes for divergences.
o Designing, delivering and evaluating management development programmes through training
consultancy and applied research.
o Undertaking marketing and administrative work in support of the core activities and reporting on
functional activities and performance.
3. BOTSWANA ACCOUNTANCY COLLEGE

The Botswana Accountancy College is a Business School, which offers franchised programmes in the areas
of Accountancy, Insurance, Information Systems/ Technology and Business.
2.1 MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
o Lecturing in the following areas: Introductory Accounting, Evaluating Costs and Revenues, Drafting
Financial

Management
Accounting- Decision Making, Financial Analysis, Financial Strategy, Business Mathematics and

o Held the position of CIMA Course Tutor hence worked with the CIMA Course Manager in administering
the programme. Championed the introduction of the CIMA Certificate in Business Accounting at the
Botswana Accountancy College in 2009.
4. BOTSWANA MEAT COMMISSION (BMC)
Jan 2002- Apr 2004: Senior Accountant
BMC is a major exporter of beef and beef products from Botswana. It has 3 branches within the country, and
subsidiary companies in South Africa and Europe.
4.1 MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
o Forecasting and budgeting.

o Preparing BMC consolidated Management accounts
o Allocating and apportioning overheads to cost centres
o Coordinating monthly payroll and liaising with Human Resources to ensure that variances to payroll have
been properly authorised
o
Monitoring levels of debtors and liaising with Sales and Marketing to follow-up outstanding accounts
receivable.
o Checking payments (to livestock producers and suppliers of consumables) for authenticity before
signatory.
o Coordinating the processing of producer payments to ensure that producers are paid accurately and
timely.
o Preparing VAT returns and making payment to the Department of Customs and Excise.
5. MINISTRY OF FINANCE AND DEVELOPMENT PLANNING
May 1998 – Dec. 2001: Internal Auditor/ Project officer, -on special attachment to the Financial Assistance
Policy (FAP) programme
The Ministry of Finance and Development Planning is the largest of all the Botswana government ministries.
The FAP programme was set up, with the objective of promoting manufacturing, agricultural and tourism
industries hence provided financial assistance to investors.
5.1 MY RESPONSIBILITIES
o Appraising FAP projects on the basis of: Internal Rate of Return, Payback period and their Net Present
Value complemented by site visits.
o Preparing claims from FAP beneficiaries for payment by the National Development Bank.-Claims
included: wages claim, training grant claim, sales augmentation claim and tax claims.

Served Tirelo Sechaba with the Remote Area Development Programme (RADP) office in Molepolole. The
RADP was set up within the Ministry of Local Government of Botswana to assist in the promotion of rural
development. In addition the RADP office in Molepolole catered for school going remote area dwelling
students.

o Facilitating the supply of food and clothing to “remote areas dwellers” through visits to areas serviced
and giving feedback to the head office.
o Producing monthly reports to senior officers on the conditions of RADP sponsored students.
