RESPONSIBILITIES
Research Support Functions




Develop and maintain documentation on the Regional Center for
Africa (RCA) research and development activities including log
frames, staff time, project activities and project reports,
Liaise with relevant offices at the headquarters and update the
Director-RCA (D-RCA) on status of project proposals and project
progress,
As part of monitoring the quality of science assist the D-RCA in
planning and conducting programmatic review processes,
preparation of reports, presentations, etc.
Assist the D-RCA in planning and organizing workshops, seminars

Human Resources Functions






Liaise with Director of Human Resources and other HR staff for HR
policy-related matters
Maintain HR policy documents, provide necessary clarifications to
the D-RCA and other staff while applying the policies
Assist in processing benefits (leave, education, etc…) for IRS in the
region
Manage all aspects of HR management for Nationally Recruited
Staff (NRS) in the region – recruitment, preparation of contracts,
processing payroll, social security and staff welfare measures,
performance evaluation, dispensation of benefits, staff relations,
compliance to local employment laws, training including team
building, and career development needs,

Handle casual labor employment including compliance issues, in
consultation with the relevant operational units

including organizing and maintaining administrative records,
