Course Description
This course covers the important issues and critical steps involved in starting a new
business from scratch. Topics covered include developing a business plan, creating a
successful marketing strategy, setting up the legal basis for business, raising start-up
funds, attracting and managing human resources, managing costs, and developing a
customer base.

Course Grade Assessment:
A.
Students will be graded on major exams, projects, and homework. Students will
be expected to score a minimum of 80% on written, practical, and presentation exams.
B.
Grading is as follows: This class contains in-class participation and visual
presentations that are to be given in front of the entire class, make-up of such are NOT
allowed and turning in work late is NOT acceptable. Make-up test will NOT be given.

VIII. Attendance
Students are expected to attend all classes for which they are registered. Students who are
unable to attend class regularly, regardless of the reason or circumstance, should
withdraw from that class before poor attendance interferes with the student’s ability to
achieve the objectives required in the course. Withdrawal from class can affect eligibility
for federal financial aid.
IX.
