Youth Investment Co. Objectives: • To create a firm resource base with clearly defined objectives and holistic, balanced, creative and imaginative programmes that not only respond to the needs of young people or aligned to the vision and mission of the church but also serve the purpose of the Kingdom of God. Youth Investment Co. Objectives: • To create a firm resource base to sustain the Youth Unit not by being largely dependent on overseas based-donations or assessments, but – wealth through generous giving and entrepreneurship(upwardly mobile), thus promoting Youth Economic Empowerment. Youth Investment Co. Objectives: • To advance the implementation of sustainable projects and poverty alleviation programmes. • To form partnerships and MOUs with other Youth development institutions. Youth Investment Co. • Establishment of a Youth Investment Company: A business venture of the Unit to make the most of its profits at the best of Christian ethics to fund youth development (Youth mission and administration) through a Trust Fund. Profits to be channeled towards: • Youth Economic Empowerment. • Development of sustainable projects. • Investment opportunities • Capacitating the Youth Unit office. Children’s Ministry • To promote Child development. • To swell and sustain Teen church/Special Class. • To capacitate CM practitioners in all facets of this ministry (Redefine CM Indaba). • To define/enhance the relationship with MU (Child desk) Unity and Cohesion • To promote vigorous Transformation Agenda. • To accept and understand Diversity, Multiculturalism, Multiracialism and remove ethnocentric attitudes. • Establishment of CYUs as a tool for unity and cohesion. (Dummy Guide). Unity and Cohesion: • To promote contemporary programs and activities that are aligned to integration. (Age difference) • To strengthen interorganizational relations. • Our God is the Healer and Embracer of Diversity. Image and Visibility • To positively brand and market MYU not only to improve our image but to truly reflect the Kingdom of God. • To explore creative ways to advance the Good News and improve communication through our official website, social networks and print medium. Mission & Spirituality • To explore and stretch our Spiritual Experience. • To enhance spirituality and deepen discipleship of young people. • To create an environment that prepares youth to play meaningful roles in the life of the Church. Continued… • To embrace the notion that MCSA is a Missional Church and in solidarity with the poor. • To strengthen our partnership with the Mission Unit (HIV/AIDS and other social ills). TMMF • To facilitate support and funds for Methodist schools, their maintenance and conservation. • To launch the TMMF project in 2013. • To effectively manage the roll out program of the Fund. Celebrating the Methodist Heritage • To educate and empower the Youth. • To conduct research into the rich history of the MCSA and to disseminate information through memorial lectures (Educational, Inspire and Influence). MAKING THE M-PLAN WORK • Year plan (each year) must be designed to achieve the 4 point plan. • Programs and/or set of activities must be identified for each objective. • A program driver/owner must be identified for each (Centralization). • Annual targets must be defined for each objective. • Progress against targets must be measured annually throughout the 3 year period (Progress evaluation matrix).
