Investment Analyst – SSG Capital Management About the company SSG Capital Management (Hong Kong) Limited (www.ssgasia.com) is an alternative investment advisor based in Hong Kong. The SSG Group manages four successful funds which focus on credit and special situation investing across Asia-Pacific region with approximately US$2 billion in assets under management. The Group has over 40 staff working from offices in Hong Kong, Singapore, Shanghai, Mumbai, Mauritius and Jakarta. The core SSG team has worked together for a long time and has achieved a strong track record in investing in Asia since 1998. SSG has been recognized with several industry awards. About the position The Investment Analyst is part of the investment team and will help make direct special situations investments. The individual will perform in-depth analysis on potential investment opportunities and build up a detailed understanding of the industry, the competitive dynamics therein and the target company. The work will involve both desktop research, such as analysis and modeling of financial accounts, as well as on the ground work. While the work will be primarily based in Hong Kong, the role may require the candidate to travel within Asia. The individual will also assist in deal execution, the ongoing management and exit of investments. He/she will benefit from working in a dynamic, motivated and highly experienced team of investment professionals. He/she will also be assigned a mentor to assist in his/her professional development. Responsibilities Research and compile industry data Understand industry trends and competitive dynamics Collect company level operational and financial data Analyze financial statements Build detailed financial models for companies Perform valuation using different methodologies Identify potential investment risks and consider potential mitigants Distill the insights of analysis and present investment recommendations Participate in meetings with investee companies and with the in-house investment committee Handle other ad-hoc projects Requirements Undergraduate or Masters graduate Preferably a major in Business / Accounting / Finance / Economics / Mathematics / Statistics (other disciplines are also welcome) Hong Kong, Mainland and International students are welcome to apply Must-have Passion for investing and valuation Self-motivated Enjoy challenges and willing to continually learn Strong analytical skills and proficiency with numbers Ability to explain facts and findings in a clear and succinct manner (both verbally and in writing) Possess multi-tasking skills and ability to work well under pressure Proficiency in both written and spoken English GPA 3.3 or above Nice-to-have Proficiency in other Asian languages Relevant work experience Contact Shirley Wong, Human Resources Manager – [email protected] Deadline Applications should be received no later than 4 February 2016
