Extract from Build UK/CITB Apprenticeship Funding Guidance
• Must select a apprentice framework or standard
• Must select an approved training provider
• Employer negotiates the cost of the apprenticeship with
the training provider and monthly payment plan
• Funding bands are per apprentice
• Government will provide additional funding up to 90% of
funding band maximum where insufficient funds in
digital account
How it works - remember
• Apprenticeships are devolved policy. This means that
authorities in each of the UK nations manage their own
apprenticeship programmes, including how funding is spent.
• Different rules apply to apprenticeship funding in Scotland and
Wales where funding will be accessed in the same way as it is
at present
• Contact relevant authority in these countries to find out more.
• Apprenticeship levy is collected on the wages paid to the
whole UK workforce but funds are distributed depending on
where the employee home addresses are registered.
