Application must be made by Certified Applicator. Resident of 2 ½ acres or less may apply at the Protective Rate or according to NMP and is not required to be a Certified Applicator. Must have soil test to apply commercial P fertilizer at PR. If no soil test is available, land owner may use recommendation of qualified person until January 1, 2009. As of January 2007, Poultry litter within NSAs must be applied in compliance with a NMP. May request plan from conservation district or contact other certified person. Conservation district must approve plan. May also use comprehensive nutrient management plan drafted by NRCS, which contains a NMP. NRCS Field Office Technical Guide standard 590 and 633. Keep records for at least 5 years. Records available for inspection by ANRC or Conservation District but not public record. Operation is not responsible for use of litter once litter is removed from premises.
