Electron Transport Chain NADH, FADH2 .have pair of electrons. Electrons Transport from NADH, FADH2 . to a series of electron carries in the form of cytochroms to the ultimate acceptor O2 molecule and produce H2O , so there are series of redox reaction. Respiratory assemblies located in the innermitochondrial membrane Oxidation &ATP synthesis are coupled when proton influx to the mitochondrial matrix. 1 2 NADH &FADH2 have pair of electron (High Energy Electron) . These high energy electron transferred from mitochondrial matrix to the electron carriers in the form of the cytochromes embed within mitochondrial membrane 3 These high energy electrons pass through a series of a redox reactions 4 When the electrons pass through a series of cytochromes ,protons pumps out side the mitochondrial matrix . At the end of this journey the electron reach to the ultimate electron acceptor O2 molecule ,so O2 capture pair of electron & form H2O molecule. 5 In this slide water molecule is formed as a process of oxidation of proton by oxygen molecule , oxidation & ATP synthesis are coupled by transmembrane influx of proton inside mitochindrial matrix . 6 The H+ ion is influs inside mitochondrial matrih by passing through the ATP synthase this enzyme is located with in inner mitichondrial membrane & these protons have high energy & lead to the Oxidative phosphorylation of the ADP & formation ATP or libration of energy,formation of water re-generation of FAD,NAD 7 The presence of high concentration of protons out side the matrix lead to High concentration gradients relative to the matrix these create a proton –motive force due to two factors: 1- Decrease the PH 2- These protons have a high energy so,these are differences in electrical potential &PH between matrix &intermembrane space 8 These difference in electrical potential is sufficient to synthesis ATP.. Synthesis of ATP is by the difference in oxidation &reduction potential Of NADH & O2 Oxidation& synthesis of ATP are coupled by influx of proton into mitochondrial matrix.
