Hello Biology and Life Science Teachers, You are invited to a free PD session for high school biology teachers and middle school science teachers on Saturday, October 25, 9-12 AM. Our PD will include: Photosynthesis Investigation where students will learn how to measure the rate of photosynthesis and design an investigation of factors that influence the rate of photosynthesis Using Models to Understand Photosynthesis, a discussion activity How our Muscles get the Energy they need for Athletic Activity, a discussion activity that compares and contrasts aerobic respiration and anaerobic fermentation Comparing and Contrasting Photosynthesis vs. Respiration, a presentation by Dr. Fevzi Daldal, Professor of Biology If you plan to attend, please register by filling out the form at https://docs.google.com/forms/d/1oeiESLw9Ywkjd4Q094NajC7dtLA0Zonqf5S8dOJJ3U/viewform?usp=send_form . For Philadelphia teachers who register by October 19 and participate in this PD, we will provide the supplies for "Photosynthesis Investigation". (Depending on enrollment, we may be able to provide supplies for non-Philadelphia teachers.) We will provide Act 48 credits for School District of Philadelphia teachers. If you are a Philadelphia School District teacher and want Act 48 credits, please be sure to bring your 5-digit EIN number to the PD session. This PD session will be held in Room 101, Leidy Lab in the Biology Department of the University of Pennsylvania. For a map of the area, go to http://tiny.cc/BiologyPDMap.
