3. In your view what are the BPs of your organization in implementing Mahila kisan
sashaktikaran pariyojana?
ANS : ½ acre Annapurna crop model.
3.2.1 why are the practice may be considered as a BP?
ANS : 1. Its give yearlong family food security.
2. It is very much suitable to rainfed areas.
3. ½ acre land can be provide food security if the family spend 2-3 hours per day in
this model.
4. Safety food available.
5. Improve ground water levels.
6. Recycling soil enrichment in this model.
Need/problem before the BP was rolled out
Need: It is a need to provide food security for every poor family.
Problems:
1. Availability of ½ acre land.
2. Readiness of family
3 .Regular monitoring and guidance.
3.2.2 when the B.P was initially implemented
ANS : BP was initially implementation in the year of 2010-11 with the experience
taken from CMSA-SERP Andhra Pradesh. Initially fruit plants planted vertically and
horizontally in the length of 36 feet, 18feet and 9 feet length. Canopy enlarged in
whole of the land in duration of 3 years. Then the production of vegetables reduced
gradually. After we get experience from farmers changed fruit plants pattern
vertically only.
3.2.3.Identification of house holds :
ANS : 1.½ Acre dry land family holder.
2. Member of SHG or willing to join in SHG
3. Women headed family
4. Two acres of rain fed land holders.
5. Tribal families
3.2.4. Infrastructure setup / processes :
1. Dug 1 ½ feet width 1 feet depth trench around the bund.
2. Formation of 7feet soil beds
3. Provide furrows (1feet depth 2 feet width) between every two soil beds.
4. Live fencing around the field.
5. 3types of fruit plants should be there at every 36 feet 18 feet and 9 feet range.
3.2.5. Family members can do for setting up above infrastructure. Old age farmers and
women headed family need external human support to create said
infrastructure.
3.2.6. Key outputs/achievements?
Rs 30,000 to 50,000 will get in rainfed ½ acre Annapurna crop model. Will get
Rs.50,000 to 1,00,000 in irrigated areas.
3.2.7. Outcome/ output of B.P. measured :
Recording daily output and outcome from the crop model
Recording daily consumption and marketing of produces.
Sample report enclosed in Annexure - II
3.2.8. Was the BP scaled up, if yes – what was the scope of scale up? If not why?
It should be scaled up. If we provide one time expenditure to poor and
poorest of the poor who are having below 2 acres of dry land.
3.2.9. one time investment around 11 thousand rupees required for implementation of
B.P
3.2.10.
Bed based and multi crop cultivation introducing in Annapurna crop
model. So there is no need to hiring outsourcing labour. Proposed weeder/power
weeder to reduction of drudgery of farmers.
3.2.11.
The Annapurna crop model is a Eco - friendly crop model. It will be
improve water level and save water. It can be sustain in anywhere of the Country.
I strongly believe that the practice is sustainable. All the seasonal fruit plants
given returns round the year. Vegetables and other cereals will be cultivate along
with fruit plants. So I have to say that the model can provide food security
lifelong.
