TEACHING PROCEDURE
Introduction and Mental Set
Obtain the figures from a local florist of the number of flowers they sold on a
certain holiday.
Example:
100 dozen red roses – Valentine’s Day
50 dozen pink roses
200 dozen carnations
Then ask the students if they have sent or received flowers in the last year.
How did it make them feel? Was it an important gesture to them or the
person receiving the flowers? Why do we send flowers?
Discuss what crops are used for certain occasions and whether they need
sun, shade, heavy water, color preference or any other customer needs.
