Pudding Plates
Objective:
Today you will be creating your own models of tectonic plate boundaries. Reread the pre-lab activity from
the other day and find the three types of plate boundaries that occur throughout the Earth’s surface. Then
find the create a model of each type of plate using the pudding and graham crackers provided. Remember
you only get 4 spoonfuls of pudding. Demonstrate and record what you see. If you need a hint: Pudding=
asthenosphere, graham crackers =lithosphere.

Analyze:
1. What geological feature is formed when the lithosphere (graham crackers) meet at
a convergent boundary.

2. What geological feature occurs at convergent boundaries?

a divergent boundary.

5. Do the lithospheric plates move smoothly at a transform boundary? Why or why
not?

6. What geological event occurs at transform boundaries?
