Job Description
This position is funded by a NCAA Ethnic Minority and Women's Internship grant. Funding for this position is limited
to individuals who meet the criteria for ethnic minorities and women set by the NCAA. All applicants should include
both a resume and a cover letter.
Duties:
Administrative Duties (45%)
The intern will take the lead on managing, departmental projects related to Athletics that are administrative in
design. They will specifically be responsible for providing general administrative support in organizing, managing
and unifying administrative tasks currently performed by various staff members.

Marketing Coordinator: In this capacity the individual will assist in the marketing and promotion of our entire
program. The internship will give the successful candidate an opportunity to create, design, and implement
new ideas for promotions on game nights. The scope of the athletic marketing campaign is to engage the
campus community, increase attendance and support for all athletic events by providing an entertaining
college atmosphere. Responsibilities will include assisting in the creation and implementation of marketing
plans for all sports, game day promotions, special events, community and campus outreach events,
advertising, and designing and printing promotional materials.

Game Operations Coordinator: Supervise student workers in the set up, management, and break down of
equipment for all athletic games and events; assist visiting teams and coaches with game day needs.
Leadership Development (20%)
The intern will serve as a staff coordinator to the CCNY Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC). The intern will
attend meetings, assist in the organization and implementation of SAAC-run events, work with SAAC to improve
student-athlete wellness, and assist with promoting CCNY Athletics on campus. In addition, they will assist in the
development and implementation of the student-athlete captains leadership program.
Assistant Coaching of a Women’s Sport (35%)
The intern will assist in directing all aspects of team management including, team building, practice sessions, travel,
athlete academic progress, equipment, fundraising, and recruitment of qualified student-athletes. As a member of
the coaching staff, the intern will play an active role in the lives of our student-athletes.
Candidates must be able to attend a mandatory orientation session in Indianapolis on August 1-2, 2013.
Required Skills
Candidates must have competitive playing and/or coaching experience at the college level or equivalent.
Candidates must be able to work effectively in a diverse work environment, be attentive to details, have the ability to
lead and work independently as well as within a team environment, maintain confidentiality, show initiative, handle
frequent interruptions and manage projects while keeping an organized workflow.
Experience Required
Bachelor's degree required. Applicants should have previous work experience in athletic administration and a desire
to work in college athletics.Experience working with Marketing and promotions / game operations strongly preferred.
At least one year coaching experience required, collegiate experience preferred.
Strong communication skills required: speaking, writing, and listening. Good computer and internet skills
required, experience with and/or ability to learn Adobe suite software; Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, and
video editing software strongly preferred. First Aid, CPR and AED certification/training preferred. Knowledge
of NCAA rules preferred.
NOTES:
Additional Salary Information: Salary: $20,100 per year, for two 10-month segments, plus yearly stipends of
$3,000 (professional development), $10,000 (housing), $5,000 (health insurance), and $250 professional
memberships.
