Customer Service Skills (Level 2 City & Guilds)
Customer service is an essential skill in any industry and this course will provide the perfect
springboard into a wide variety of different roles within a huge range of different organisations. The
course will allow you to gain the essential knowledge and skills that will open up opportunities for
you virtually anywhere. Customer Services is a generic qualification that is applicable to most jobs
and workplaces. This can be run as an on-line, distance learning course or as a taught course.
Principles of Team Leading (Level 2)
The aims of this two day course are to allow candidates to develop:

Six day course (usually 2 days a week) combines Microsoft Office applications: Word Processing;
Spread Sheet software (Excel); and Presentation software (Power Point). The course is designed to
cover the key concepts of computing, its practical applications and their use in the workplace and
society in general. It consists of practical tutorials that will include step by step examples with
guidance and support from your tutor.
You can take one unit of the course and get a certificate or complete all 3 to get the full qualification.

Expand your use of Information Technology in the workplace (Level 2 IT Users City & Guilds)
This course combines Microsoft Office applications: Word Processing; Spread Sheet software (Excel);
and Presentation software (Power Point).
The course is designed to cover the key concepts of computing, its practical applications and their
use in the workplace and society in general. It consists of practical tutorials that will include step by
step examples with guidance and support from your tutor.
The course can be unitised for each application each generating a unit certificate or you can
complete all three units for the full qualification.

Accounting - Level 1 Award (AAT)
Afternoon course, 3 hours per week over 6 weeks
This course gives the perfect framework to introduce you to the world of business and finance.
Learners will familiarise themselves with finance language and standard business practices, while
learning to maintain a good work/life balance during study. This short course will also bridge the
gap to Level 2 of the AAT Accounting Qualification.






Suitable for people who:
Have little or no background in accounting and finance in the UK;
Need a short refresher course in basic business and finance skills;
Want to find out what accountancy and finance involves, before committing to more study;
Plan to study the Level 2 Certificate in Accounting and want to make sure they have basic
business and finance skills;
Have English as their second language and need to learn the basics in business language.
Accounting Skills to run your own Business - Level 2 Award
This is a 12 week course which provides an introduction for those who are new to finance. It is
designed for those wishing to start their own business or provide a business service and require a
basic level of accounting and finance knowledge.
The qualification covers how to manage a healthy budget and cash flow, as well as gaining an indepth knowledge of financial documents and working more effectively with the business’
accountants.

Budgeting for the small business – planning and control
Managing cash flow, keeping your business healthy
Understanding financial documents
Sole Traders, Partnerships and Limited Companies – notification and essential principles
Level 2 Computerised Accounting (SAGE)
This is a ten week course and runs for an afternoon a week (usually 1-4pm). Computerised Sage
products are used by over 800,000 companies in the UK and over 5.7 million organisations globally,
making it one of the world’s most popular computerised bookkeeping accounting software tools.
SAGE training is advantageous for anyone looking to work with computerised accounts. By
undertaking a SAGE course, you could open the door to exciting new career prospects within your
company.

Emergency First Aid at Work – Level 2 CIEH - 1 day course
The CIEH Level 2 Award in Emergency First Aid at Work may be more suitable for lower-risk work
environments, such as offices and shops and/or organisations with fewer than 100 employees.
For Edge funding, this can ONLY be offered if it is over and above the legal requirement of a job i.e. if
the training supplements someone’s work rather than them being the only first aider in the company.
This certificate is valid for three years.
First Aid at Work – Level 3 CIEH - 3 day course
The CIEH Level 3 Award in First Aid at Work is a two unit, three day course that will enable successful
candidates to act as a first aid trainer in their workplace.
Unit 1: Emergency First Aid in the Workplace
Unit 2: Recognition and Management of illness and injury in the Workplace
The course is very practical and participative and there will be plenty of opportunity to practice the
skills you learn. As every workplace has different emergency scenarios, participants will be given the
opportunity to discuss their own requirements at the beginning of the course.

Health + Safety in the Workplace - Level 2 CIEH – 1 day course
Employers are responsible for providing safe and healthy workplace conditions and the right systems
and methods for safe activities. This one-day qualification is designed to ensure that all employees
are aware of their own safety and the safety of customers, contractors and the public. It is applicable
in any private or public sector environment.
This can ONLY be offered if it is over and above the legal requirement of a job i.e. if the training
supplements someone’s work rather than them being the only holder of the health and safety
qualification in the company.

Food Safety in Catering - Level 2 CIEH – 1 day course
This course is for anyone working in a catering or hospitality setting where food is prepared, cooked
and served. Typical environments may include: Pubs, Hotels, Restaurants, Retail, Contract catering,
Fast-food outlets, Hospitals, Care and Nursing homes and Schools.
The course aims to raise awareness and understanding of food hygiene issues and will enable staff to
fulfill their obligations under food hygiene regulations. It will provide an understanding of current
regulations and how to maintain hygiene in food preparation areas.
