DOK.Incubator calls for ambitous feature docs in rough-cut stage DEADLINE: February 22nd, 2016 Five–month long mentorship focused on filmmakers’ professional development gives you the access to internationally experienced tutors to develop your film and test new ideas to tell your story. Teams of a producer-director-editor of 8 participating films will focus the film’s topic and sharpen the storytelling, realizing there is always another way to tell the story, get a wider perspective to see the film in the international market and concrete tools to approach effectively future audience. Intensive editing, distribution and audience building work upgrades your rough-cut to high-end film to meet a worldwide interest Intensive 5 months of editing for films, planned to be finished in early autumn 2016 Whole creative teams of an editor, director and producer are invited 25 internationally active filmmakers tutor you through-out the postproduction period You get a deep practical knowledge of the current film market and sophisticated know-how, how to build an own tailor-made distribution strategy New marketing tools used in a complex strategy to target and attract a wider audience, internationally We meet altogether for three intensive week-long workshops: 1st Session: May – Czech Republic 2nd Session: July – Slovakia 3rd Session: September – Malmö (Sweden) The nearly finished films are introduced to key decision makers at Nordisk Panorama How it works: The editing mentors work with the participants continuously to develop the storytelling, to focus the topic, and find new ways to tell their stories, The production mentors help the producers to deal with the financing, team management and distribution Marketing tutors follow the teams to position the film, to target their audience, and attract it Distribution tutors build with the participants a sophisticated strategy how to break into the market The programme opens gates to a testing audience among experienced festival representatives and sales agents for the participants to design and test an effective tailor-made distribution strategy. Through-out the postproduction period of their films (May – September 2016), the participants will be working intensively in the editing room, building a clever, tailormade distribution plan and marketing strategy. DOK.Incubator is a good opportunity to get a new perspective to see your film in the international context and to make sure your unique story will be rich and relevant to the audience.
