Oldest substances made and drunk by
humans
Wine: grapes and other fruits
Beer: grains, barley and wheat
Beverage alcohol, aka ethanol, is only one
type of alcohol. NEVER DRINK METHANOL
or other non-beverage alcohols b/c they
can cause blindness and death.

alcohol mostly effects.

Controls speech, thinking, memory,
judgment, and learning. Emotions,
breathing, senses, and movement.
Depressant

Drug that slows body functioning
Alcohol and Your Brain

your thinking, memory are impaired.
Can’t tell safe from dangerous. Sleep,
coma, and death can occur.
Blood Alcohol Concentration (BAC)

Amount of alcohol in the bloodstream.
Also known as blood alcohol level. At .08
or higher, legally intoxicated.
