HOUSTON—There’s something for everyone on stage at Miller Outdoor Theatre in Hermann Park. From
daytime programs especially for young children to family friendly evening performances of music, dance,
theatre and more, this is Houston’s best entertainment value. Admission is FREE! For a complete schedule,
visit www.milleroutdoortheatre.com.
Free tickets for evening performances are available on a first-come first-served basis (four per person over age
16 while they last) at the Miller Outdoor Theatre box office the day of the performance between the hours of
10:30 a.m.—1 p.m. for assigned seating under the canopy. If tickets remain at 1 p.m., the box office will reopen one hour before show time to distribute the remaining tickets. As always, open seating on the hill.
Under normal circumstances, all unoccupied/unclaimed seats are released five minutes before the
show is scheduled to begin. We encourage all patrons to be in their assigned seats at least 10 minutes
before showtime to ensure that their seat is not released. Again, there is NO charge for tickets. Tickets may not
be reserved by phone. Only four (4) tickets per person. At managements’ discretion, all unoccupied seats
may be released at any time for any reason.

A romantic, funny comedy, “Two Gentlemen of Verona” follows two young couples—Proteus and Julia,
Valentine and Sylvia—as they navigate falling in love and growing up fast in small-town life and sexy, fastpaced Hollywood. The 1930s is the perfect setting for a witty look at competitive friends, smart-aleck servants,
glamorous starlets, intimidating movie moguls, and a dog who just wants to be fed. Directed by Brendon Fox.

His son Prince Hal spends his time in the taverns of London with brigands and drunkards, led by the pot-bellied
prankster Falstaff. The Battle of Shrewsbury looms ahead, and with it, the fate of the House of Lancaster.

Movies at Miller: Rock Docs - Big Easy Express
August 12, 8:30 p.m.
Three bands, six cities, one train and thousands of miles of track, “Big
Easy Express” captures an incredible—and unforgettable—musical
experience. Harkening back to the days of jubilant railroad revivals, of
steam and steel, Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros, Old Crow
Medicine Show and Mumford and Sons hop aboard a vintage train and
wow crowds across the country. Part road movie, part concert film, the
vibrant, raucous “Big Easy Express” is a must-see film for any music
buff. Directed by Emmett Malloy.

Movies at Miller: Rock Docs - Rebel Music: The Bob Marley Story

A biography documentary that tells the heart-wrenching story of the
godfather of reggae, “Rebel Music: The Story of Bob Marley” is a
compelling, definitive and comprehensive look at the legend's life. The
film, chock-full of Marley’s classic music and intimate archival footage,
adds exclusive interviews with Lee Perry, Chris Blackwell and Rita
Marley, along with the foremost members of his music band, The Wailers.

Movies at Miller: Rock Docs - Stop Making Sense
August 14, 8:30 p.m.
Bust out your “big suits” and best David Byrne dance moves—Jonathan
Demme’s landmark 1984 film arrives at Miller just in time to celebrate its
30th anniversary and digital release. Often hailed as one of the greatest
rock movies ever made, “Stop Making Sense” captures the Talking
Heads during their Speaking in Tongues tour over the course of three
nights at Hollywood's Pantages Theater. The movie, notable for being the
first made entirely using digital audio techniques, is as relevant and
rockin’ today as it was 30 years ago. Directed by Jonathan Demme.

An Evening with Lowrider Band

Churning out hits since 1962, members of Lowrider Band have composed some of America’s favorite and
funkiest chart-toppers—“Slippin’ into Darkness,” “Low Rider,” “9 to 5 (Ordinary Man),” “All Day Music” and
“Why Can't We Be Friends?” Responsible for some of the most popular, exciting music of their generation,
multi-platinum singer-songwriters, Howard Scott (guitar), Harold Brown (drums), Lee Oskar (harmonica) and
B.B. Dickerson (bass) front a band of seven accomplished musicians to bring you the familiar funk-soul megahits you know and love from the band’s exhaustive discography.

Who needs seven instruments when you have seven voices?
Members of the inimitable Naturally 7 septet have perfected the art of
“vocal play” and use their voices to mimic the sounds of musical
instruments. The wildly inventive group performs original material
alongside reimagined arrangements—which incorporate scratching,
percussion, harmonica, brass, electric guitars and bass all produced,
naturally, with the human voice. After bursting onto the scene in 1999,
the group has toured the world extensively—most recently with multiplatinum artist Michael Bublé. Dance crews HIStory and Inertia will
kick things off in style!

Movies at Miller: Space Tales – Gravity
August 21, 8:30 p.m.
Director Alfonso Cuaron's award-winning Gravity stars Sandra Bullock as Dr. Ryan Stone, a brilliant medical
engineer on her first shuttle mission, with George Clooney as veteran astronaut Matt Kowalsky. On a
seemingly routine spacewalk, disaster strikes. The shuttle is destroyed, leaving Stone and Kowalsky
completely alone - tethered to nothing but each other and spiraling out into the blackness.

Swing, Jive, and Pop! Into Dance
August 26, 11 a.m.
MET Dance's “Swing, Jive and Pop into Dance” incorporates history, fashion, music and the arts into an
interactive blast of excitement. The company dances through the eras of the 1930s Lindy Hop, bops into the
1950s, grooves into the 1970s and ends with the hip hop music of today. Students, teachers and audience
members have the opportunity to converse with the dancers and participate in an energy-filled hour of dance
while learning fun historical tidbits of information.

and new lyrics by Stephen Schwartz, originally produced in New York

biggest Broadway and off-Broadway successes of all time, the musical
“Godspell” is an electrifying, soulful folk-rock recreation of the Gospel of
St. Matthew.

and experience the stunning evolution of Bollywood dance through the

Bhangra to hip hop and salsa—this fascinating journey showcases an
endless array of brilliantly choreographed moves, vibrant Indian costumes
and dramatic audio-visual presentations to further enhance an already
exciting show. Indian Performing Arts: Samskriti's Bollywood Blast
illustrates the ever-changing Bollywood dance style—something that is at
once Indian and cross-cultural.
