Communication and Content – How well have I given information?
My work is very clear, understandable and easy to read and gives the reader
lots of information
It ‘flows’ very logically and makes good sense
It contains lots of details, such as description of items, places or a sequence of
events
It explains my opinions with reasons
My work is generally clear and understandable with only a couple of confusing
sections
It contains details, such as description of items, places or events
It is fairly logical and makes sense
I have tried to use complicated structures and this has sometimes worked and
made sense
My work is, on the whole, understandable but may not be long enough or could
be quite confusing in patches
I have had a go at making it logical, though sometimes I have struggled with
this
I have tried to make basic sentences longer to give some details
I have given opinions and some reasons


My work gives the main points, but a lot has been left out making it quite short
There’s very little structure or logic to it
There’s no description and the opinions I have used are basic. There are no
reasons for the opinions
It’s quite confusing to read
There are only individual sentences that can be understood at all




My work does not give much information
There is very little there
Most of it is confusing and doesn’t make sense
Anyone reading it would only be able to pick out individual words


Either no work or so little that no information at all has been given.
This automatically means I can’t get any marks in any of the other sections
either

I have used lots of different vocab, barely repeating any
I have used a mixture of long and short sentences with negative phrases too
My work shows I know how to use lots of different tenses and get the right
ending on almost every verb
I have shown I can use grammar rules to create my own original sentences that
sound good in the target language
I have used different vocab to help explain myself
I have tried to use a mixture of long and short sentences with connectives and
negatives and this has sometimes made sense
I have tried to use different tenses; usually this goes well, but there are a few
verbs that are not correct
I have tried to adapt language to create new sentences; it’s clear that I have
sometimes struggled with this
The vocab I have used in my work is good enough to explain myself
My word order is correct in short sentences; in longer sentences there are
usually mistakes
I have tried to use adjectives to help describe things and they are sometimes
correctly used
Some of the verbs I have used have the correct ending and are in the correct
tense
I can link sentences with simple connectives, possibly repeating the same ones
The vocab I have used is often repeated and is pretty basic
Often, the words I use don’t make sense in the phrase they are in
The majority of my work is made up of set phrases: I haven’t really tried to
adapt them
It shows that I can write my own very short phrases correctly
I have tried to use verbs with the correct endings and in the right tense but
there are lots of mistakes
I have tried to add in a couple of adjectives
I have only used odd words correctly
I don’t really understand how I should start and end sentences in the target
language
Every now and again, I have written something that I have copied correctly
from a different resource
Nothing that can be marked

Accuracy
My work is very accurate, but not necessarily perfect
My spelling is excellent
I can clearly add the correct endings onto verbs
I show that I know which nouns are masculine, feminine (or neuter)
I show I know when and how to make adjectives agree with the thing they
describe
There are only a few mistakes when I use longer sentences
My work is generally accurate with a few minor mistakes
My spelling is quite good
Most of my verb endings are correct
I know whether most of the nouns I use are masculine or feminine (or neuter)
with a few mistakes
I add on the agreements to adjectives most of the time, though sometimes
forget
Longer sentences are where I make the most mistakes
Most of the simple language I use is correct, but I often make mistakes with
more difficult words or phrases
About half of my verb endings are correct
The spelling of words I use a lot is usually right
Although there are quite a few mistakes, more than half of my work is correct
and the mistakes I make don’t stop it being understandable
If I try to use longer, more complicated sentences, I make more mistakes
The mistakes I make often mean it’s hard to understand what I have written
I get some bits right, but I make lots of mistakes with spellings, verb endings
and whether words are masculine or feminine (or neuter)

I make so many mistakes that barely any of my work can be understood
There are only occasional words that are correct
I am not very good at spelling and don’t really know if words are masculine or
feminine (or neuter)
Most of my verb endings are wrong

None of the language I have used can be marked
