MARKETING POLICY

Objectives
o The purpose of all marketing, promotion, education, advertising and
public relations shall be to keep members and non-members informed
about the benefits of credit union membership.
o The policy of Siskiyou Central Credit Union shall be to emphasize it as
a membership organization. Its policy shall be to provide maximum
communication to members.

Education
o Education programs shall be developed for members.
o The format of member programs shall include, but not be limited to:
1. Credit union services
2. Philosophy of credit unions
3. Consumer credit

Public Relations
o The CEO shall be responsible for maintaining a friendly and memberoriented atmosphere in the credit union office and the community.
o Siskiyou Central Credit Union staff is expected to take a personal interest
in communicating information to the members in an accurate and friendly
manner.
o Periodic efforts will be made to measure the image of the credit union.

Policy #
Annual Meeting
o The CEO shall be responsible for recommending to the board the
budget of the annual meeting, the objectives and the format.
o The annual membership meeting, aside from meeting the statutory
requirements, shall serve to accomplish a specific objective, such as
education.
o The meeting shall be held at a time and place consistent with the
meeting objective.

Advertising and Promotion
o A systematic advertising and promotion campaign will be a continuous
part of the credit union operation. Included, but not limited to, shall be:
1. Publication of a Newsletter. The CEO shall be designated as
the editor.
2. Distribution of promotional literature, whenever possible, with
each mailing.
o As the staff is the first-line contact with the membership, they should
be encouraged to develop ideas and promotions for the credit union.
o . Advertising and promotion shall be balanced between institutional,
saving, and borrowing. By policy there shall be an emphasis on either
savings or borrowing at any given time, and consistent efforts will be
made accordingly.
o The mailing list of membership may not be provided to any vendor or
insurance company. Any general mailing to the membership can be
made only with specific authorization of the board of directors.
