Hinduism?
Hinduism?
They do not have any divine revelations
but do have books on ethics and
morals. These books are the four vedic
books known as the Vedas. They
incorporate ‘dharma’ which is actions
and morals and ‘karma’ which is the
product of dharma.
Hinduism?
Hindus have mainly three
important gods who are called
the triumvirate. They call them
as Brahma, Vishnu and Shiva.
The first the creator of all
universe and the second the
preserver and third is the one
who destroys and then
recreates it.
The Three Supreme Gods
Brahma
Creator of the universe
and the creatures
Vishnu
Preserver of the universe
and sustainer of life
Shiva
Destroys world and then
recreates them.
Worships
They frequently visit temples where they pray
by prostrating to a replica or stone carved
image of one of the Gods.
Other famous forms of worship is providing
the Gods with offerings of fruits and sweets,
praying personally as it is an individual
practice rather than a group activity.
Festivals
Diwali, the Hindu festival of lights, is the
most popular of all the festivals from South
Asia. It is also an occasion for celebration
by Jains and Sikhs. The festival of Diwali
extends over five days. Because of the
lights, fireworks and sweets involved, it's a
great favorite with children. The festival
celebrates the victory of good over evil,
light over darkness and knowledge over
ignorance, although the actual legends
that go with the festival are different in
different parts of India.
Festivals
Holi was originally a spring festival of fertility and harvest. Now it
also marks some Hindu legends, which provide some of the
ingredients for the celebrations. People drench themselves with
color water or color powder and put together fairs. This day is a
national Holiday in both India and Nepal.
Contradictions with Islamic
belief and morals
Islam teaches the oneness of God whereas
Hinduism has beliefs based on a multitude of
Gods.
The moral and ethical code of Islam is divine
whereas Hindu morals are based on
philosophers who were upheld by the society.
