Montgomery County Students Automotive Trades Foundation, Inc. (ATF)
Herb Gordon Subaru Donates Vehicle to Student
Automotive Educational Program
Michael Schildt, Sr. of Herb Gordon Subaru in Silver Spring, Maryland generously
donated a 1994 Toyota Camry to the Montgomery County Students Automotive Trades
Foundation (ATF) to use as a trainer in automotive education. The gift was accepted by
the foundation’s executive vice president, Steve Boden, who praised Herb Gordon
Subaru for their community involvement and can be seen on Herb Gordon Subaru’s
Facebook page at www.facebook.com/HerbGordonSubaru.
The ATF is a non-profit foundation established cooperatively by Montgomery County
Public Schools and the business community in Montgomery County to promote and
advance the interests of automotive education through the establishment of a studentrun licensed used car dealership. This unique method of training high school students
for skilled positions in the automotive field offers hands-on instruction to students
interested in an automotive career.
The vehicles donated to the ATF are used by Montgomery County Public School
instructors and students within the automotive classrooms and labs to provide valuable
on-the-job training that will prepare students for higher educational opportunities or
direct entry into the automotive job market.
The ATF is inspired by the dedication and generosity of donors like Herb Gordon
Subaru. Their extremely kind contribution will help us to continue to provide beneficial
training for our students.
