The country is so big that parts of the USA are in different time zones. When it is 9 a.m. in New York, it is only 6 a.m. in Los Angeles. America is a country of many cultures. The first people to live there were the Native American Indians. They lived in groups or tribes and each tribe had its own traditions. Europeans started to live in America in the 16th century, and in the 17th century there were number of colonies. At first they were helped by the Native Americans.
