Ken Walker Joins Data Age Business Systems as Director of Marketing
Veteran web producer and Internet marketing expert to oversee all marketing efforts and
strengthen the company’s traditional and online demand generation initiatives
Largo, Fla. – (June 25, 2013) – Data Age Business Systems (Data Age), a global provider of
financial transaction software solutions, has added veteran digital marketer Ken Walker to its
growing team. Walker, who joined the firm earlier this month, is responsible for managing,
developing, and delivering traditional marketing and web-based demand generation for both
internal and external campaigns. In his new role as director of marketing, Walker will oversee
all marketing initiatives including online, trade show, and print with a focus on demand
generation. He will also lead Data Age’s expansion plans for existing lines of business, new
product development, and new partnerships.
“Ken’s deep expertise in web site optimization, search engine optimization, social media
marketing, and paid search, combined with his strategic and technical capabilities, make him
the perfect person to lead our marketing team at this exciting time in our company’s history,”
said Tom Streng, president of Data Age. “He has the perfect combination of industry
knowledge and multichannel marketing experience to help us achieve our business growth
goals.”
Walker’s previous roles included digital marketing consulting and consumer engagement
strategy development for a variety of small and medium sized businesses. He served as
director of internet marketing for Tampa Digital, directed operations at atLarge, Inc., a global
consultancy focused on digital business strategy and design, and LinkShare Corp. As web
producer at LinkShare, Walker supervised web design, development, content, search engine
optimization (SEO) and social media marketing (SMM) teams.
Data Age, which is celebrating its 25th year in business in 2013, is led by co-founders Streng and
Randy Peffly, who serves as executive vice president. The privately held company has grown
organically by prudent fiscal management and the careful cultivation of trusted relationships
with customers, partners, and a network of resellers. Today, Data Age serves nearly 2,600
customers in 27 countries within the Convenience Store, Liquor Store, Pawn, Check Cashing,
Payroll Advance and Title Loan industries. Both individual unit and multi-store businesses rely
on the company for its expertise in Point-of-Sale (POS) technology, loan management,
inventory management, scanning and bar coding products, biometrics, risk mitigation,
regulatory compliance, and Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems.
Since 2007, the company has experienced significant growth in its core business and exploited
opportunities in the marketplace to extend its line. Capitalizing on the introduction of new
technologies and listening to their customers, Data Age created new products, and added
features to existing ones to make them more robust and keep them ahead of an increasing
number of competitors who were now in their field.
