The circulatory system
The blood transports substance to and from the body’s cells. The heart serves as a pump that keeps blood moving
through the network of blood vessels:
- arteries, which carry blood away from the heart
- capillaries, which are tiny blood vessels
- veins, which collect blood from the capillaries and carry it back to heart.
