ANATOMY LAB 1 WE WILL TAKE ABOUT: Kidney Ureter Urinary Bladder Urethra 2 KIDNEY Renal vein, renal artery and ureter are found in the sinus in anterior to posterior order 3 INTERNAL STRUCTURE OF THE KIDNEY Each kidney consists of: Outer cortex convex Inner medulla concave formed of renal pyramids with apex forming renal papilla it’s open to the Minor calyces Major calyces Renal pelvis fills most of the sinus Cortex extends into medulla as renal columns 4 5 ANTERIOR RELATION Right kidney: Suprarenal gland Liver Duodenum Right colic flexure Ileum Left kidney: Suprarenal gland Stomach Spleen Splenic artery Pancreas Jejunum Left colic flexure 6 ANTERIOR RELATION Right Kidney Left Kidney 7 POSTERIOR RELATION OF THE KIDNEY Diaphragm separates the kidney from the pleural cavity and 11th and 12th ribs Psoas major medially Quadratus lumborum in the middle transversus abdominis laterally NOTE The right and lift kidney are similar except the right kidney does not have 11th rib 8 Artery Vein Ureter 9 10 11 12 URETER It shows three constriction along its course: 1. Between ureter and pelvis 2. At crossing the external iliac artery 3. At entrance to urinary bladder 13 BLOOD SUPPLY OF THE URETER Uretric branches of common iliac Uretric branches of internal iliac gonadal arteries 14 15 URINARY BLADDER IN MALE 16 PARTS AND SURFACES Body Apex Fundus Parts: It is divided into apex, body fundus and neck Surfaces: It has superior, posterior and two inferiolateral 17 RELATION Posterior relation: Vas deferens Seminal vesicle Rectum Rectovesical fascia Peritoneum Superior relation: Peritoneum Coils of ileum Sigmoid colon Lateral relation: Obturator internus muscle Levator ani muscle 18 RELATION Anterior relation Symphysis pubis Retropubic fat Inferior relation: Prostate gland 19 BLOOD SUPPLY OF THE URINARY BLADDER Urinary bladder Superior vesical artery Inferior vesical artery 20 URINARY BLADDER IN FEMALE 21 PARTS AND SURFACES Parts: It is divided into apex, body, fundus and neck Surfaces: It has superior, posterior and two inferiolateral 22 RELATION Posterior relation: Uterus Vagina Superior relation: Peritoneum Uterus Lateral relation Obturator internus muscle Levator ani muscle 23 RELATION Anterior relation Symphysis pubis Retropubic fat 24 BLOOD SUPPLY OF THE URINARY BLADDER Urinary bladder Superior vesical artery Vaginal artery 25 URETHRA OF MALE 26 PARTS Parts of urethra: 1. Prostatic part 2. Membranous part 3. Penile part 27 28 URETHRA OF FEMALE 29 Urethra 30 The openings Urethra Anterior Rectum Posterior Vagina Intermediate 31 THINK ABOUT IT !!! 32 NOTE In the Ureter you should be identify then write the three construction “if it come in the exam” Slid 32 Not include in the exam 33
