Genetic Disorder’s Project
Get into groups of 2 or 3 people.
There are many types of genetic disorders. Your group will pick one disorder to become
experts on so you may teach the rest of the class. It cannot be the same as another’s group
disorder. So once you decide on a disorder, get it approved by the teacher.
You will spend today researching your disorder. You will need to name it, both general
names and scientific names, describes the symptoms, state how it is inherited, whether it is
recessive, dominant or other, sex-linked or other, chromosome the affected gene is on, and
so on. You must explain any unfamiliar terms. Explain treatments, how it is detected, and if
there are any cures now, or may be in the future. You will have to add pictures, so save them
to your iPad. You will also have to hand in a works cited page. (a list of all your resources
where you got your information) You should plan out your lesson because you will have a
limited time to complete it on day 2.
Day 1 - Decide on disorder, get approval from teacher, and research
Day 2 – create Educreation lesson – must be completed by end of hour - Present lesson.
Day 3 – finish presentations if needed
