SPONSORSHIP PACKAGES
Make a difference…
Sponsoring the Sense Golf day provides you the unique opportunity to
connect with the community, to build brand awareness and show your
company’s support of an important cause all while joining an exciting
event tailored towards the AV industry.
Sponsorship offers your organisation the following benefits:
• Strong networking opportunity giving you access to approximately 200 influential
and engaged attendees in the AV industry
• Marketing opportunities and exposure during the entire life of the event
• The chance to enhance your organisation’s CSR profile by supporting the
UK’s only charity working with deafblind people in some of the poorest parts
of the world
• The opportunity to showcase your organisation in a new and innovative way
• The opportunity to change the lives of some of the most disadvantaged children
and adults in the world
With the majority of attendees in 2015 being middle to senior level decision makers
within their organisations and most from the AV industry, sponsorship of the golf
day can give you an exceptional opportunity to network and build relationships.
And have fun doing it
The Sense golf day is a charity golf tournament with a difference. Part serious game
of golf, part glamourous garden party we’re inviting attendees to partake in 18 holes
at the beautiful Buckinghamshire Golf Club, followed by dinner and dancing under
the stars. The course will be enlivened by live music and bars dotted around while
dinner will feature a gourmet barbecue, live and silent auction, entertainment and a
fantastic opportunity for networking.
For non-golfers the evening event will be a celebration of good food and great drinks
in a fabulous setting. For golfers, the icing on the cake will be 18 holes at the fabulous
Buckinghamshire Golf Club, host to European and Senior Tour Events, including the
Anderson Consulting World Match play and the European Senior Championship. This
year, they’re also hosting two professional competitions, the Open Regional Qualifier
and the ISPS Handa Ladies British Masters.
Comments from the 2015 event…
“It was an outstanding day, brilliantly run and for a great cause, at a superb
venue. Topped off with excellent weather it was great to be away from the
laptop for a day.” Anton Vidal, Midwich Limited
“It was an absolute pleasure to attend with the Maverick Team. A thoroughly
enjoyable day and extremely well organised. Congratulations on the total
achieved on the day and Maverick look forward to our continued support
of Sense.” Matt Keen, Maverick

About Sense
Sense has been supporting deafblind
people from birth through to old age
for over 60 years.
Deafblind people face many
challenges. They cannot hear or see,
their knowledge of the world ends at
their fingertips and often they feel
isolated. We help deafblind people find
creative ways to communicate and
provide opportunities for them to learn
the life skills and have access to the
opportunities that many of us take
for granted.
How many deafblind people are
there in the UK?
• 356,000 people in the UK have
significant hearing and sight
impairment.
• Over 21,000 children with combined
sight and hearing loss in the UK.
4,000 of these have other complex
conditions and need specialist
support.
• Research suggests in 20 years the
number of UK people with severe
deafblindness will rise by 86%.
“Sense is there when
the battles are way too
big to fight on my own.
There isn’t another
charity I could turn to”
Parent of a deafblind child
What we do
We provide a range of crucial services
for adults and children from learning
how to communicate, providing
accommodation and communication
support to holidays and outdoor
activities.
As well as providing direct support, we
lobby, campaign and work with local
communities to ensure opportunities
and choices are available to deafblind
people.
We are widely recognised for our
pioneering work with deafblind people,
in fact our global reach is wider than
any other charity in this field.
Registered charity number 289868
About Sense International
Sense International is the only UK
charity supporting deafblind children
and adults in some of the poorest
countries in the world – Kenya,
Tanzania, Uganda, India, Bangladesh,
Romania and Peru.
Deafblind children in these countries
desperately need our help. Without it
many will lead short, lonely lives. These
children can suffer appalling abuse and
neglect. Families often don’t know how
to help their children, or even how to
communicate with hem. They can be
malnourished and left locked up each
day while their families go out to work.
But it does not have to be this way.
Sense International gives children the
chance to break through the terrible
isolation of deafblindness and lead a
valued and fulfilling life.
How we work
Because of the way we work we have
a big impact. We aim to put services
in place so that we can walk away
and leave solid expertise behind.
We provide expertise and training
to local organisations and persuade
governments to provide national
support.
• We work with governments, education
and health authorities to put the
infrastructure in place.
• We work on the ground, training
deafblind teachers, home-based
workers and parents so they can offer
the right support to children.
• We lobby governments to recognise
the unique challenges faced by
deafblind people and to provide
services to help them.
• We run awareness raising activities to
change people’s understanding
of deafblindness.
“I know my condition is
irreversible... but meeting
you, I have a new belief I can
make it no matter what!”
Nyachioyi from Kenya
