a. Valley – Surrounded by mountains, lots of plants, Central Valley is the largest in CA
b. Desert – Mojave Desert is Largest in CA, Death Valley is hottest place in CA, Hot, Dry, Little rain/plants.
c. Mountains – 400+ miles of mountains in CA, Sierra Nevada Mountains in CA, Prone to rock slides and
avalanches.
d. Coast – land and ocean meet, 840 miles N to S, Golden Gate bridge stretches across the bay.

a. Lines of Longitude – Go up and down. They measure how far east and west
b. Lines of Latitude – Go
left to right. They measure how far north and south
