Calcium in two different but synergistic forms- coupled with LAspartic acid, a highly absorbable organic amino acid and as microcrystalline calcium hydroxyapatite (MCCH), a derivative of bone. The
latter form is coupled with phosphate, an organic source of
Phosphorus, which is vital to bone health. Both are provided for the
purpose of maximizing the availability of highly absorbable calcium
Vitamin D3, an essential vitamin for rebuilding bone tissue. Long
considered a necessity, only recently has the key role of Vitamin D in
bone health begun to be uncovered and more research is being done
as this is written.
Vitamin K2 (menaquinone-7 or MK-7), another vitamin that has been around for some time but only
recently begun to be shown as a key player in strengthening bone. Menaquinone-7’s function is to
direct calcium to sites like bone and teeth and away from areas where it can be harmful.
Strontium Citrate, a highly absorbable form of strontium. Strontium is an important mineral in
building bone density. While not an essential nutrient, it nonetheless has proven invaluable in
rebuilding bone density. Recent studies indicate that co-administration of Calcium and Strontium
stimulates new bone matrix growth, when taken in the proper ratios.
Boron is another key player in forming new bone matrix. Its role is to direct calcium, magnesium and
phosphorus (the key elements of hydroxyapatite- what bone is made of) to bone-building cells in
bone called osteoclasts.
Standardized extract of Horsetail Rush, an herb which contains another factor in bone health- silicon.
Silicon acts something like cement does in concrete. It holds it all together and lets the different parts
of bone harden. Horsetail Rush has a healthy amount of bioavailable silicon dioxide.
