Some special effects that Shakespeare used were “cannons, trapdoors, wires, ropes,
music, and live animals” the two trapdoors on the top and bottom were used to signify
Heaven and Hell (“Globe Theater Special Effects”).
Shakespeare’s costumes were “decorated with braids, embroidery, patterns, pearls, and
jewels” (“Globe Theater Special Effects’’).
The lighting in the Globe was made mostly by natural light, and in the evening there
would be some artificial lights, like candles (“Old Globe Theater Structure”).
Shakespeare’s sets were very simple; they had few props, like a throne or a chair (Doyle
& Lischner 16).
Plays were divided into three categories: Histories, comedies, and tragedies. Each play
had to be registered before it was produced (“William Shakespeare Plays”).

Religion
1.
2.
3.
4.
According to Quora.com, the main difference between Protestants and Catholics is that,
“Protestants believe the Bible alone is the sole source of G-d’s revelation to mankind, and as such it
teaches us all that is necessary for our salvation. Roman Catholics do not believe the Bible alone is
sufficient”(What is the difference between Roman Catholics and Protestants?).
Shakespeare uses religion in his plays when it works for the plot. One example is Hamlet where King
Henry VIII has trouble divorcing Katherine, and having his first wife, Ophelia, who drowned herself
buried on sacred ground because of the religion at the time(Doyle and Lischner 18).
According to bardstage.org, the Puritans were against the Globe Theatre because,” The theatres
were also used for bear baiting, gambling, and immoral purpose… The crowd attracted thieves… ,
pick-pockets, and all kinds of rogues”(Globe Theatre and the Puritans).
By 1642 the Globe Theatre was issued an ordinance suppressing stage plays.

A normal Shakespearean comedy play is when the main characters live and get married (

Two examples of a comedy's are, “A Midsummer Night’s Dream and Merchant of Venice.”
