 Weekly Spelling Contract Spelling Contracts  2 boxes per “spelling Week” (Thursday-­‐ Wednesday) must be completed and turned in on Wednesdays.  Complete each activity in your spelling notebook. If there is a box that requires a parent signature, the signature needs to be in the spelling note book.  Remember to label all the boxes in your spelling notebook and the list that you are doing. Sentence! Sentence! Fancy Fingers Write your words in 3 different colors. Use your fanciest writing to write your words with curly, dotty, or other fancy letters! Silly Sentences Choo-­Choo Words Use all of your words to make 10 silly sentences. Write all of your words, one right after the other, using a different color for each word to make your word train. Rhymes Writing: Write your spelling words and next to them write a rhyming word. Example: make-­‐cake Underline your spelling word Write a sentence for each of your core words. Questions & Answers Write a question for each spelling word. Then answer each question using the spelling word. Scary Story Write a scary story using your spelling words ABC Order Write your words in alphabetical order. Directions:  2 boxes per “spelling week” (Thursday-­‐Wednesday) must be completed, stapled to this contract sheet, and turned in on Wednesdays.  Please complete each activity, in your spelling notebook or white typing paper. Write each spelling word. Next to each word, write two additional words of at least three letters that can be spelled using the letters in the word. Example: the word pickle can be used to make the words lick, pick, like, and lip. 1 Where are the vowels? Write your words but draw a line instead of putting the vowels. (a, e, i, o, u) Ex: b l – c k Use a thesaurus to write
a synonym for each
word. A synonym is another word with similar meaning. 3 Take a practice test with a family member or an adult. Go to the website Parent signature below. http://www.spellingcity.c om. Use your computer to type your words. Use different fonts and make it look really fun! Print it out or type your words in an email and email it to me. 7 Write your spelling

based on the number of
vowels and consonants in
each word. Example: pickle= 2 vowels and 3 consonants so the fraction would be 2/3. 2 Spelling City Other Handed If you are right handed, rite your words with your left hand.
