Rosetta Biosoftware and GeneGo working together
Resolver system/MetaCore workflow

Workflow Overview
•
User uploads gene expression experimental data into the Resolver
system
•
User analyzes gene expression data using various methods such as
clustering, trends and statistical tests
•
User identifies an important list of genes with corresponding gene
expression data, such as fold change and P-values
•
The user launches MetaCore from the Resolver system and behind the
scenes MetaCore uploads their experimental data and displays a page
in which users can visualize their data in (predrawn) maps or build
networks on the fly
•
GeneGo has the ability to upload expression values and P-values in
addition to gene IDs from the Resolver system
•
The user performs further pathway analysis and exports gene lists from
maps or networks back into the Resolver system
•
The user may also search the Resolver system database to see if these
genes of interest have been used in other experiments and bring these
results into MetaCore too

Expression analysis in the Resolver system
–
• Use Resolver system tools for expression analysis and visualization,
such as trends, clustering and plots

Identify important genes in the Resolver System
•
• Select genes in the Resolver system analysis tools
• Instantaneously access MetaCore through the Resolver system’s Instalink
feature for further investigation without having to export

Broadcast and save lists in the Resolver system
• Sets defined in MetaCore can be broadcast onto analysis viewers in the
Resolver system or saved as biosets for further analysis

Benefits to mutual customers
•
Easy to use interoperation between the Resolver system and GeneGo
MetaCore makes the combined power of the two systems accessible to many
more researchers.
•
Researchers will be able to process their data faster without the use of an
expert.
•
Reduces the burden on bioinformatics experts because biologists can answer
their own questions more efficiently.
•
Enables users to concurrently visualize gene expression data from the
Resolver system in MetaCore maps and networks that are manually curated.
