NAME:_____________________________________________________ DATE:__________________ Rational, Irrational, and Imaginary! Oh My! 1. State the degree of the polynomial, multiplicity and find the roots. 2. Use the graph to answer the following: a. Write the equation of a 10th degree polynomial using products of linear factors (factored form). b. Write the equation of a 21st degree polynomial using products of linear factors (factored form). a. 3. Find all real solutions APPROXIMATELY! b. 4. List all possible rational solutions. Use the graph to check the possibilities and synthetic division to show the solutions algebraically. 5. Find all rational and irrational solutions EXACTLY! 6. Find all rational, irrational, and imaginary solutions EXACTLY! 7. Scientists and fishermen often estimate the weight of a fish from its length. The data in Table 1 give the aver‐ age weight of North American sturgeon for certain lengths. Because weight is associated with volume, which involves three dimensions, we might expect that weight would be associated with the cube of the length. a. Use regression to find the best fit model.
b. Use the model to estimate the weight of a sturgeon of length 56 inches.
c. Compare the weight of a sturgeon of length 44 inches as given by Table 1 with
the weight given by the model.
d. Predict the length of a sturgeon that weighs 210 oz.
