PRO PACKS
INSTALLATION GUIDELINES
For complete installation instructions please refer to Lencore’s Spectra® Classic Installation Manual or visit www.lencore.com.
Pro Packs
is an out of the box sound masking solution designed for small,
non-networked projects in increments of approximately 1,800 square feet (sq), and recommended not to
exceed 7,200 square feet. Following are system layout guidelines.
The goal of speaker placement and zoning is to effectively control sound while providing speech
privacy resulting in a productive work environment.
Pro Packs consists of one Remote Central Volume Control (RCVC) unit which is designated for zoning,
two main speakers which drive up to two additional secondary speakers each, and five secondary
speakers. In order to ease installation, a plug-in transformer is provided to power up to 32 speakers.
With the help of the following guidelines or by contacting Lencore Technical Support (516-682-9292),
determine the locations of where masking is required. Speakers are typically hung on 15′ centers under
standard conditions.
Standard Conditions
8′ – 10′ Ceiling Height from the Finished Floor
3′ – 5′ Plenum Height (distance between the
finished ceiling and the deck above)
Standard speaker (speaker grill facing upwards
towards the deck above) with a 15’ center should
be installed 6″ to 12″ above the ceiling.
For Direct-Firing speakers requiring a ceiling
plate and/or tile bridge please contact customer
service at 516-682-9292.
Make certain to follow all national and local
building codes.
(Keep all speakers hung at a consistent height.)
Each speaker masks approximately 225 square feet. Some floorplans do not allow you to maximize
the coverage area. For instance, a speaker in a 6′ wide hallway will only cover 90 square feet.
Determine the location of where speakers will be installed AND the locations of where speakers are
NOT required.
NOTE: For tuning purposes, main and secondary speakers should not be installed in different areas (i.e., main speaker in a
closed office and secondary in an open office); the main speaker drives the secondary speaker.

Products
Remote Central Volume Control (RCVC) Speaker (1 Per Box)
RCVC speakers are used to control the volume of each zone. Zones
are determined by the number of RCVC speakers installed in a Spectra
Classic system. The RCVC Speaker can drive one additional secondary
speaker.
•RCVC supports 32 speakers (7,200 square feet of coverage) in the Pro
Packs offering (1 RCVC per Pro Packs box)
Remote Central Volume Control (RCVC)
Speaker (1 Per Box)
•RCVC dials may be installed in the room on a wall, on the ceiling,
above the ceiling, or in a nearby closet
•Multiple speakers can be used to create individual zones when more
than one Pro Packs is used in a design (1,800 – 7,200 sf of coverage)
1,800 square feet is based on an open plan layout with speakers placed at 15′ centers.
Actual coverage will vary based on floorplan.
Main Speaker (2 Per Box)
Main speakers are daisy-chained
off of the RCVC speaker. Each main
speaker can support an additional
two secondary speakers.
Secondary Speaker (5 Per Box)
Secondary speakers hang off of
main speakers. Two secondary
speakers can hang off of one
main speaker.

Transformer (1 Per Box)
The 40V plug-in transformer is used to power the Pro Packs System.
The transformers step down from 120 AC voltage to 16V AC voltage.
• Can support 32 speakers in the Pro Packs offering
• When paging is involved, one 40V Transformer can support 16
speakers
If a hardwired transformer is required, check with your local dealer.

Paging
To add paging to the Pro Packs system, you would need the below
equipment. You would also need to run green and black wiring between
the speakers and back to the amplifier(s).
Lastly, you would need to turn up the POTS on each speaker to set the
volume.
• Amplifier
• Either a Microphone or an analog (POTS) line telephone
To Add Zone Paging
Up to nine (9) zones can be added to the Spectra Classic Pro Packs
system. Requirements to add paging include one amplifier per zone
AND the addition of a page configurator (one unit for up to 3 zones.)
The following page provides examples of zoning with a Pro Packs system.

Important Safety Instructions
 Follow all instructions.
Do not use this equipment near water.
 Clean only with dry cloth.
Do not block any ventilation openings. Install in
accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions.
Do not install near any heat sources such as radiators,
heat registers, stoves, or other apparatus (including
amplifiers) that produce heat.
Only use attachments/accessories specified by the
manufacturer.
Protect your equipment with surge protector and UPS
equipment.
Refer all servicing to qualified service personnel.
Servicing is required when the apparatus has been
damaged in any way, such as if the power-supply cord or
plug is damaged; liquid has been spilled or objects have
fallen into the apparatus; the apparatus has been exposed
to rain or moisture; does not operate normally; or has been
dropped.
Follow COMPLETE instructions for wiring the system and
ALL system checks before powering the system on for the
first time, to avoid irreversible damage to the components.
Ensure proper polarity for wiring with regard to power, data
and audio output.
Do NOT plug any devices into a computer or network or
like equipment unless specifically asked to do so in the
installation manual.
