May 6, 2011 To our valued families, I am passionate about our ability to contribute to a child’s life by teaching preventive dental health, maintaining proper growth and development of the teeth and jaws, and improving facial esthetics. I believe by doing this, we can make a positive contribution to a child’s health and well-being. I have dedicated most of my adult life preparing, studying and practicing pediatric dentistry and orthodontics. Along with my team, we have continually strived to provide the highest quality dental and orthodontic care available. Our goal is to set the stage for a lifetime of good dental habits and a bright healthy smile! As with medical insurance, dental insurance is changing. This is evident in the way dental insurance companies try to dictate treatment for patients in manners which are clearly intended to save the companies money without regard for the dental health of the patients. I believe the result of this will be a reduction in the quality of dental care which is something I am not willing to accept in my practice. As far as I am concerned, I work for you and not the insurance companies. I want to provide your children with the best treatment given their dental needs, not the treatment your insurance dictates. As a result of these changes, I have decided to end my “member dentist” status with Washington Dental Service and other Delta Dental plans as of December 31st, 2011. I want to emphasize that I will still remain a provider for Washington Dental Service and other Delta Plans. This means that we will accept and process your insurance helping you to maximize your benefits. However, you may notice a difference in your patient portion. It is important to note that this change only applies to regular dental care. Your orthodontic benefit will not be affected. We are committed to pursue excellence in serving you. This change will allow us to provide your children with the most appropriate and best treatment possible, regardless of your dental coverage. We will make every effort to work with you to help reduce any burden this may cause. I hope that we can continue the privilege of providing the highest level of dental and orthodontic care available for your children. Sincerely, Andrew J. Kapust, D.D.S., P.S.
