Year 3: Spring Term General Statement English Mathematics Science Computing We hope that you thoroughly enjoyed your Christmas holidays and that you are ready to start the new year with a positive attitude to learning. We have an exciting Spring Term ahead with lots of new topics to get into. If you wish to speak to a member of staff, we will be happy to arrange a mutually convenient time. Spring Term – Second Half Addition/Subtraction - Add and subtract numbers with up to three digits using the formal method of columnar addition and subtraction. Measures: - Add and subtract amounts of money to give change, using both £ and p in practical contexts. Fractions: - Recognise and show, using diagrams, equivalent fractions with small denominators. - Compare and order unit fractions, and fractions with the same denominators. Geometry: - Recognise angles as a property of shape or a description of a turn. - Recognise that two right angles make a half turn, three make three quarters of a turn and four a complete turn. Statistics: - Interpret and present data using bar charts, pictograms and tables.
