Dear Oregon Public Utility Chair Hardie and Commissioners Savage and Bloom,
CC: PGE CEO Jim Piro, and local and state leaders,
Please tell PGE to choose clean, renewable energy like solar and wind over fracked gas.
Building new gas-fired power plants would lock Oregon into decades of climate-polluting fossil
fuels and unpredictable gas prices, all at a time when prices for clean energy sources are more
affordable than ever. Building new fracked gas-fired power plants will also undercut
Oregon’s goals for reducing climate pollution. Please direct PGE to significantly revise its
plan by taking a close look at clean energy sources like wind and solar instead of rushing ahead
to commit Oregon to risky gas-fired power plants.
