• Daoism: founded by Laozi – Heaven is best
followed by inaction so that nature is allowed to
take its course, opposite of Confucianism
• Legalism – Qin Shi Huang Di(first emperor) –
Humans are evil and can only be brought on
correct path by harsh rule
