2003 – to the present Lecturer at the Dept. of Sociology, Panteion
University of Social & Political Sciences. Since 2004, regular staff
member. Teaching courses in: sociology of education, social inequalities
(undergraduate level); and sociology of knowledge (postgraduate level).

2004 – 2007 Teaching in Greek-EU projects, “In-service university level
training” and “Promoting gender equity during process of transition from
school to work”, training primary and secondary education teachers,
University of Ioannina, Aristoteleion University of Thessaloniki. Courses
taught: ‘sociology of education’, ‘gender and education’; ‘gender and
career choice’, ‘sociological approaches to gender’, ‘developing gender

Administrative and Professional Posts
Ms. Kantzara has organized several professional meetings and conferences and
functioned as a board member of various academic organizations and
professional associations. Recently she has been a co-founding member of the
Hellenic Sociological Society and was appointed member of the Co-coordinating
Board of the Research Network Sociology of Education of the European
Sociological Association (ESA).
Scientific Interests
Fields of interest cover themes and issues in sociology of education, social
inequalities,
sociology
of
knowledge
and
social
theory;
as
well
as
methodological, epistemological and philosophical issues pertaining to the
study of society. Interested in teaching, “active learning”, conducting research
and writing. She plans to investigate students” “subject positioning” in
education in relation to social inequalities.
