Dear AP US History Student: WELCOME TO APUSH!!! To prepare for the AP class, you are required to complete a “SUMMER ASSIGNMENT.” Since the AP History curriculum is so extensive, reading the beginning chapters of the text makes it possible to cover more periods of history during the school year. The Summer Assignment includes the following: 1) REQUIRED: CHAPTER SUMMARIES 1-2-3: Go Online to the following site: http://wikinotes.wikidot.com/ Click on “American History 12th” Edition Click on Chapters 1-2-3 AND print a paper copy of each chapter • Read the Chapter Summaries and Complete the assignment for each Chapter (Assignment Sheet is attached at the end of this letter) The Assignment is due at the end of the first week of school. You will be taking the first APUSH TEST on these 3 Chapters sometime during the second week of school. 2) OPTIONAL: “Bonus” Assignment: You may want to take advantage of this Assignment to earn 5-10 extra Bonus Points that will be added to your APUSH 1st Quarter Grade. •The Bonus is due on the first day of class.
