YOUR 3rd GRADE SPELLING MENU
Welcome to the Spelling Cafe`! Each week you will have your
choice of 1 appetizer, 1 main dish, and 1 dessert to complete.
These 3 activities will be due by Thursday of your spelling week. Please be
sure to label your activity with the name of it, and follow the directions
carefully!

Word Search
Crack the Code
Write each of your
words. Then highlight all
of the vowels.
Use graph paper or go online to
puzzlemaker.com and create a
word search using all of your
words. Then circle them!
Use the classroom code
to write your spelling
words in code. Then
write the word next to
each code.
Sailboats
Clap it Out
Write each of your
words. Next to the wprd
write the number of
syllables it has.
Bull’s Eye
Draw a target with 3
circles. In the center
write your easiest
words. In the next ring
write harder ones. In the
outer ring write the
most challenging.
Backwards Day!
Write your list of words
in reverse alphabetical
order
Use each of your words to make
a sailboat
Color-Coded
Write each spelling word. Use a
red colored pencil and go over
the vowels. Use a blue colored
pencil and go over the
consonants.
Journalist
Keyboard your words. Change
the font and keyboard them
again! One more time!
Smiley Face
Make each spelling word
into a smiley face. Use
the first letter for the
left eye, the last letter
for the right eye, and
the whole word for the
smile.
Box it Out
parts of speech.
Write your words in ABC
order. Then go back and
make a box around the
letters in the word.
Scramble
Rainbow Spelling
Scramble the letters of
each of your words. The
write the correct spelling
word next to it.
Write each word 3
times. Use a different
color each time you
