Geometry Formula Sheet 5, Triangles The sum of the interior angles of a triangle is 180º. Triangle Sum 55° + 45° +80° = 180° The measure of an exterior angle of a triangle is equal to the sum of the measures of the two non-adjacent interior angles. Exterior Angle 135° 80° + 55° = 135° In these triangles: If 2 triangles have congruent corresponding sides and congruent corresponding angles, the triangles are congruent < A = <D <B = <E <C = <F ___ ___ ___ ___ ___ ___ AB = DE BC = EF CA = FD In these triangles: If 2 triangles have 2 congruent corresponding angles, then the third angles are congruent. < A = <D <B = <E SO <C = <F SO ΔABC ≈ ΔDEF If three sides of one triangle are congruent to three sides of another triangle, then the triangles are congruent. Side-Side-Side (SSS) Congruence Postulate If two sides and the included angle of one triangle are congruent to the corresponding parts of another triangle, the triangles are congruent. Side-Angle-Side (SAS) Congruence Postulate If two angles and the included side of one triangle are congruent to the corresponding parts of another triangle, the triangles are congruent. Angle-Side-Angle (ASA) Congruence Postulate If two angles and one side of one triangle are congruent to the corresponding parts of another triangle, the triangles are congruent.
