Call to Worship God is Good
Children's Choirs
Over mountains high, through the valleys low, God is good wherever we go!
From the brightest days to the darkest nights God is good all the time. God is good!
Through the ice and snow, to the vast unknown everywhere we go, God is good!
Through the trials we face, He will show the way.
We sill stand and say that God is good! God is good!
He is good through the ups and downs when life spins us around, our God is good.
When nothing goes our way, and it's just not our day, our God is good.
Hymn No. 281
Love Divine, All Loves Excelling
Prayers of the People
Greg Pope
The Lord’s Prayer
Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name.
Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us.
And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.
For Thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever.
Amen.

Pastor, Parents, and Congregation
Pastor: By God’s love we are given children
through the miracle of birth.
Congregation: We give God thanks.
Pastor: May we greet each new daughter and son with joy,
and surround them with faith,
so that they may know Christ and want to be his disciples.
Congregation: Let us never neglect children, but delight in them, showing them the welcome God has shown us all.
Pastor: Matt and Samantha, in presenting Molly to the Lord,
do you promise in dependence upon God’s grace and with
the help of the church to teach your daughter by prayer,
word, and example the gifts and claims of the Christian faith?
Parents: We do.
Pastor: Brothers and sisters in the family of God, your help is as
necessary to this covenant as the faithfulness of Molly’s parents.
Will you covenant with them in prayer and support through
the ministries of this church as they seek to raise their daughter
in the way of Jesus Christ?
Congregation: We will.
The Prayer of Dedication
Greg Pope
God of grace, Perfect Parent of us all, we pray for these parents and for
all parents. Help Matt and Samantha to love Molly with Your love and
be faithful to the promises they have made today. Bless Molly Tatum.
Guard her with your grace through injury and illness. Hold her in Your
arms of love. Guide her with Your presence. And keep us with this
child and all children ready to listen and to love, even as in Jesus Christ
You have loved us, Your grown up children. We pray in Christ’s name. Amen.

Choral Anthem
Come to Jesus Sanctuary Choir
Chris Rice/Arr. by Mark Hayes
Weak and wounded sinner, lost and left to die
O, raise your head, for love is passing by
come to Jesus, come to Jesus, come to Jesus and live!
Now your burden’s lifted and carried far away
and precious blood has washed away the stain,
so sing to Jesus, sing to Jesus, sing to Jesus and live!
And like a newborn baby don’t be afraid to crawl
and remember when you walk sometimes we fall
so fall on Jesus, fall on Jesus, fall on Jesus and live!
Sometimes the way is lonely and steep and filled with pain
so if your sky is dark and pours the rain,
then cry to Jesus, cry to Jesus, cry to Jesus and live!
O, and when the love spills over and music fills the night
and when you can’t contain your joy inside,
then dance for Jesus, dance for Jesus, dance for Jesus and live!
And with your final heartbeat kiss the world goodbye
then go in peace, and laugh on Glory’s side,
and fly to Jesus, fly to Jesus, fly to Jesus and live!
Doxology

Listening to My Life

Silent Reflection
Where is the Spirit of God speaking to your heart today?
What is the Spirit of God calling you to do?
The Invitation to Discipleship and Community
If you desire to profess publicly your decision to follow Christ or to unite
your life with this community of faith, you may come forward during the
Hymn of Response and share your decision with the minister.
Hymn of Response We, O God, Unite Our Voices
We, O God, unite our voices, raised in thankful praise to Thee.
Thou, unchanging, safe hath brought us through the ever-changing sea.
Days of calm and days of conflict, nights of darkness prove Thy grace.
Hands beneath us, arms around us, and, above, Thy shining face.
Praise for saints whose love has stirred us, friends who taught our hearts to sing,
from their laughter, love, and anguish, hope will never cease to ring.
Mercy met us in their faces, glory, in their faithfulness.
As they lit the way before us, so may we the future bless.
Not our choice the wind’s direction, unforeseen the calm or gale.
Thy great ocean swells before us, and our ship seems small and frail.
Fierce and gleaming is Thy myst’ry drawing us to shores unknown:
plunge us on with hope and courage ‘til Thy harbor is our home.

An Invitation
First Baptist Church extends to all an invitation to membership.
If you are looking for a community of faith where you can seek God,
follow Jesus, and serve the needs of the world, we would gladly
welcome you in this place. If you would like to commit your life to the
way of Jesus and live as the beloved, forgiven child of God you are,
and be baptized, we invite you to come forward during the Hymn of
Response and share that decision with the pastor. You may also unite
with our church by moving your membership from another community
of faith. If you have any questions about FBC or what it means to follow
Christ, the pastor would be glad to speak with you at any time.
