The New Technology of WWII By: Alana Vinogradov & Christie Xiong Advancement in Technology: ● New higher tech was invented by the nations involved in WWII. ● Many new weapons and computers were created by warring countries in order to conquer their enemies. Results of Technology Advancement: ● World War II was a battle for leadership and land, but it was also a competition on who could advance technology the best. ● It was such a competition because those countries with the better technology had an advantage over those with weaker technology. ● New technology from WWII played a part in the advancement of industrialization to many nations around the world. Examples of New Technology From WWII: ● Radar - Large ground satellite structures that released waves that would locate nearby things. ● Rockets - Missiles. Germans created the V-1 and V-2 rockets which were used quite often during the war. ● Flamethrowers - Portable fire. ● Napalm - Gas that burns skin. Examples on How Technology Was Used During WWII: ● America used flame throwers and smoke screens to advance on their enemies. ● After Hitler gave up on persuading Great Britain to sign a peace treaty, Hitler decided to Invade G.B., but with Britain’s Radar advancements, it was easy to detect Germany’s moves. Effects of New Technology ● With new technology being created, material was being used for that. So many civilian things started being made out of plastic to save resources for the war. ● New technology made the war so much more dangerous due to all of the newer more powerful weaponry that soldiers were using. ● More casualties occurred due to how much easier it was for people to injure others with new technology. ● The war lasted longer because new technology helped each side improve their odds of winning.
